Eleven Mile Canyon Fly Fishing: A TEN!

Flows and weather have been perfect. Tricos are hatching every morning. Fish are feeding on top as well as below the surface. Eleven Mile Canyon is a perfect "TEN."

  1. Sounds like conditions are near perfect. I can't wait to get back there in a couple of weeks.

  2. Well, as "near" perfect as things can be in an imperfect world.

  3. True. I would be interested in hearing more about your favorite spots in Elevenmile. So much great looking water to fish there.

  4. Scott, Sorry I never responded to your question about 11 mile. I love from the double tunnels up to the dam. Most of the water that looks good, IS good! I think the water below the cascades about 1/4 mile above the double tunnels is the most "wild" and beautiful. I call it, "A River Runs Through It" water and because it is a bit harder to get to and I see less people.Great nymphing water. Of course the runs below the dam, the first bend, and the next riffle/run have lots and lots of nice rising fish but it can be a bit noisy and crowded up in there. Amazing to see so many trout on the rise! I also like the "corner" above the "Pipes" (last time you drive over the river). Lots of trico risers there. And I like the "Island hole" just down from the first of the double tunnels. Lots to choose from. Just go walk it. Look and cast and move on. I just mentioned a few. Have fun.
